Playing
Most video and audio formats

Speed 0.25× to 8×
Slow a lecture down or fly through a long video. Pick a speed from the list in one tap.
Subtitles
A subtitle file next to the video loads by itself. Or choose one: .srt, .vtt, .ass and .ssa. Turn them off any time.
A–B repeat
Mark a start and an end and loop that part, great for music practice and language learning.
Bookmarks
Drop a bookmark at any moment. Markers show on the seek bar and jump you straight back.
Gestures
Swipe sideways to seek, up and down on the right for volume, double-tap either side to skip 10 seconds, pinch to zoom the picture.
Brightness swipe
Swipe up and down on the left side of the video to change screen brightness.
Keyboard shortcuts
Space to play and pause, arrows to seek and change volume.
Lock and mini player
Lock the controls so nothing triggers by accident. Go back and the video keeps playing in a small player above the menu.

Music mode
Large artwork, a queue you can jump around in, shuffle, repeat one or all, and gapless playback where the file allows.
Equalizer
Five bands from bass to treble with presets: Flat, Bass boost, Treble and Vocal.
Full equalizer
Free includes the presets. Pro opens every band so you can shape the sound yourself.
Browse and download
Built-in browser
Tabs, an address bar that also searches, and bookmarks. No need to leave the app.
Finds videos for you
When a page has a video file, a banner offers Play in Apex or Download.
Fast downloads
Four connections at once. Pause and resume, a queue, speed and time left, and you choose the folder.
Download notifications
Progress shows in your notifications, so downloads carry on while you do something else.
Paste a link
Have a direct link to a file? Paste it on the Downloads page and it starts.
No download limit
Free runs two downloads at a time and queues the rest. Pro removes the limit.

Pick up where you stopped. Home shows your unfinished videos with a progress bar.
Playlists and favorites
Make playlists, reorder them by dragging, and heart the things you love.
Search and sort
Find anything fast. Sort by newest, name or size, or show only favorites.
Private folder
A PIN (and fingerprint or face on supported phones) keeps chosen items out of sight. It hides them; it does not encrypt files.
Backup & restore
Save your playlists, favorites, history, bookmarks and settings to one file and restore them on a new device.
Look and feel
Dark and light glass
Two frosted themes with a cyan accent. Follow the system, or choose. The light theme is a soft off-white, never glaring.
Theme Store
Browse theme packs inside the browser tab. Everyone can preview; Pro members download and apply them instantly.
Desktop layout
On a wide window the menu becomes a sidebar, with the mini player docked at the bottom.
