Privacy policy

Apex Player is a product of Zohaib Labs, run by Zohaib Alam in Pakistan. We collect as little as we can. We don't use analytics or tracking tools in our website or apps, and we never sell or share your information.

The website

  • We don't set cookies and we don't run analytics. Your theme choice (Auto, Light or Dark) is saved in your own browser so the site looks the same next time.
  • Our hosting provider keeps short technical logs (time, page, error messages) to keep the site running.
  • Buttons that open WhatsApp take you to WhatsApp, which is run by Meta and has its own policy.
  • The Go Pro page asks for your email and, when you pay, your receipt screenshot (see "Your account and Pro" below). It keeps a random ID and a sign-in token in your browser to keep you signed in; sign out to remove them.

The apps (Android and Windows)

  • Stays on your device: your library list, playlists, favorites, watch history, bookmarks, browser bookmarks, settings and theme. Deleting the app deletes them. We never receive them.
  • Your files: the app reads your videos and music to list and play them. It does not upload them anywhere.
  • Permissions on Android, each explained before Android asks: photos & videos and audio (to find and play your media), notifications (download progress), internet (browser, downloads, Theme Store), and biometrics (optional, to unlock the private folder with fingerprint or face; that data stays with Android and never reaches us).
  • On Windows the app reads the Videos, Downloads and Desktop folders of your account to build the Library.
  • Private folder: your PIN is stored only as a one-way scrambled value on your device. The folder hides items from the app's lists; it does not encrypt your files.
  • Built-in browser: pages you open load straight from those websites, which see your visit as they would from any browser. We don't see or store your browsing. Files you download come directly from the website that offers them.
  • Contact with our servers: the app asks apex.zohaiblabs.com for the Theme Store list, for update and protection information, and, if you sign in, for your Pro status. These requests carry a random install ID (not your name or phone number), the app version and what any web request carries, like your IP address.
  • Copy protection: the app checks that it is an official, unmodified copy. If it finds it has been changed, it tells our server the install ID, app version and what failed, so the owner can act. Nothing about your videos, browsing or files is ever included.

Ads in the free Android app

  • The free Android app shows ads from Google AdMob, including while you watch. To serve and measure ads, Google may use your device's advertising ID and other device information, under Google's privacy policy. You can reset or switch off your advertising ID in Android's settings.
  • Apex Player Pro has no ads. The free Windows app shows only an upgrade message, not ads from an ad network.

Your account and Pro

  • What we receive: your email address (to sign you in with a code and to attach Pro to you), the plan, amount, method and transaction ID of each payment, and the payment screenshot you upload, which shows details such as the name and number of the sending account.
  • Why: to check your payment, switch Pro on, email you the result, handle refunds and stop abuse.
  • How long: payment screenshots are deleted 30 days after the payment is decided. Payment records (without the screenshot) are kept for 5 years for tax purposes. Your account stays until you ask us to delete it.
  • Who sees it: the owner and, for live chat, support agents the owner appoints. Alerts about new payments and chats are sent to the owner by email, Telegram and push notification; they contain the amount and your email, never a password (there is none).
  • Support chat: messages you send to the in-app assistant or a live agent are stored so we can answer you. Don't put sensitive information in them.
  • Sign-in emails go through our mail provider (Hostinger) and our servers run on Hostinger hosting.

Your choices

Email support@zohaiblabs.com to get a copy of what we hold about you or to have your account and chats deleted. Backups you make in the app are files on your own device; we never see them.

Security

The website uses encrypted HTTPS connections. Apps keep your data on your device and use the protections your phone or PC provides.

Children

Apex Player isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
